A place that attracts the younger and sports minded, Les Diablerets, can satisfy the most rugged outdoor type. With its many outdoor activities for both winter and summer, it is the ideal Mecca for the skier, hiker or power glider.
The varied terrain about the village gives the walker and hiker alike the opportunity to enjoy their particular pastime in either a lazy or hectic way as desired. For mountain cyclists, the variety of circuits mostly leaves from the village Tourists' Office. They can take up to a day and usually end with a free wheel back to base. Adventure sports enthusiasts are also well catered for with the usual dare-devil activities available including power gliding and snow boarding.
Transport hereabouts depends on the train down the valley, the post bus over the mountains or BVB bus to the mountain town of Juillet. During the summer, the only way to the local glacier is by local bus to the cable car but they only run during the morning, returning by late afternoon. It is imperative that this is checked before attempting this journey.
As is to be expected, the accommodation here is limited although there is a campsite nearby. Food availability is also limited, but good value and the PAM Super Discount Store offers groceries and provisions at a cheaper rate than elsewhere.
