Zimbabwe - Travel Guide

Description
Rich in wildlife and natural beauty, Zimbabwe in southern Africa has 10 national parks, abundant game and the spectacular Victoria Falls. The capital, Harare is a colourful little metropolis with gardens and parks teeming with exotic vegetation. The fort adds to the city's unique charm and the whole impression is one of an interesting mix of modern and colonial. There are 14 golf courses in the Harare area and plenty of facilities for a varied range of sports and pastimes. The Zambezi River, which forms a natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, leads to the massive and incredibly impressive Victoria Falls, where a thunderous curtain of water crashes into the river; a truly spectacular sight. The spray from the falls can be seen up to 30km away and there is a very strong chance of a soaking if you get too close! The village at Victoria Falls has excellent amenities and offers visitors a chance to take home a souvenir of their experience. There is a remarkable crocodile farm a few kilometres away which is worth a visit if you are in the area. As remarkable for its beauty as for its natural resources, Zimbabwe has enough variety to fill several holidays. The National Parks, besides safaris, offer a chance to see cave paintings and the village of Chapunga Kraal, with its thatched huts and tribal sculptures is a rare chance to witness true African culture first-hand. There are plenty of cultural sites to visit, game to photograph and weird rock formations to look at, perhaps you should plan your return trip before you leave.
